Gurmeet Ram Rahim is also facing trial in three criminal cases.
He is accused of murdering a Sirsa based journalist, Ram Chander Chatrapati, who had investigated and written about the alleged illegal activities in Dera. Ram Chander was shot in October 2002 after which he died a month later in hospital.
