Using Debit Cards could be the most handy way of making payments but do not miss on taking care of the same.
Change the password at regular intervals. Never share your ATM pin with anyone no matter how closely bonded you are with the person. While choosing numbers to keep up with your password combination, avoid setting it to your birth date just because that can be easily remembered.
We all get lazy time to time but avoid risking your money by handing over your card to waiters for payments. Instead, walk up to the counter to make payment by yourself at restaurants, spa and similar places.
Be aware of “Vishing Calls”
Vishing is the combination of “voice” and “phishing”. Voice phishing is a criminal practice of gaining access to an individual’s confidential information like passwords over phone calls.
Please be cautious with respect to all telephone calls if they are leading to information involving your financial transactions. Little greed in expectation of lottery promised over fraudulent calls can be very dangerous.
Be rest assured and aware of the fact that Bank never calls you asking for any sensitive data related to your account number or password. It is always advised to be cautious about your financial transactions.
Take Extra Precautions while using Internet banking.
Practice keeping a strong password comprising of alphanumeric combination with special characters. Avoid using simple combinations like 0000,1122, 1234, etc.While we all love to use free WiFi available at cafes and public places, avoid the practice of executing all your transactions on Public WIFI or Free WIFI.Take that extra step and register your mobile number in the bank accounts for instant SMS alerts.
Keep track of your accounts by checking your statements and transaction history regularly. Avoid adding many beneficiaries for money transfer.We might have friends who know most about us but do not share the answers of “Security Questions” with them.
Keep your vital data safe by knowing what detail to share and what to keep in with confidentiality.While we comfortably use our personal laptops for banking, make sure to Logout properly and immediately after completing a particular task or session.If you are not aware, please make a note that you can manage the usage of international debit card by making use of the ON/OFF facility.Enable SMS alerts for all your banking transactions. Never hesitate to call customer care of SBI if any discomfort or fraud is suspected while using the services.Having the awareness of SAVE USAGE OF I.T. is a must for all of us to save ourselves from vulnerabilities.
